What do I need to prove to qualify for the Convention against Torture?
You must prove that it is more likely than not that you will be tortured if forced to return to your home country. The harm you fear must meet the definition of torture under this convention. To qualify for, the torture must be done by, at the request of your government, or with the permission or agreement of your government. You must be unable to get away from your torturer.
