My introduction to the world of Immigration…
When I was going to college there was an immigration law office that was hiring within walking distance from my school. I applied and got the job, but it wasn’t long before I noticed that immigrants were in a very vulnerable position. They would pay thousands of dollars and get nothing but a deportation.
Personally, I understood quite well what these people were going through. My father came to the U.S. in the 60’s and brought the whole family with him. We were fortunate to come into the country already legalized, but it was still a struggle.
In the summer of 2014, I came across Andres Mejer Law. The office is a few blocks from the beach which is a definite plus for me. The staff at AML is warm and friendly. They are a group dedicated to help others in time of need and crisis. I work as a paralegal supervisor at AML with 15 years of experience under my belt in all facets of immigration. I love what I do and working in this capacity gives me the opportunity to change peoples’ lives. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction. Outside of the office, I love spending time with my friends and family. My two nieces and two nephews never cease to entertain and charm me, but my greatest pleasure is to devote my time and energy to those in need. “I just can’t walk away, I always want to help.”

Mi introducción al mundo de la inmigración…
Cuando yo era estudiante de la Universidad, había una oficina de abogados de inmigración que estaba contratando a poca distancia de mi escuela. Apliqué y conseguí el trabajo, pero no pasó mucho tiempo antes de que yo notara que los inmigrantes estaban en una posición muy vulnerable. Ellos pagaban miles de dólares y los resultados no eran buenos y a veces hasta llegaba a deportación.
Personalmente, yo comprendí muy bien lo que esta gente estaba pasando. Mi padre vino a los Estados Unidos en los años 60 y trajo con él a toda la familia. Tuvimos la suerte de entrar en el país ya con estatus legal, pero todavía fue una lucha.
En el verano de 2014, me entreviste con el Licenciado Andres Mejer. La oficina está a pocas cuadras de la playa que es un definitivo placer para mí. El personal de Andres Mejer Law es amable, amistoso y acogedor. Son un grupo dedicado a ayudar a otros en tiempos de crisis y necesidad. Trabajo como asistente legal en AML con 15 años de experiencia bajo mi cinturón en todas las facetas de la inmigración. Me encanta lo que hago y trabajando en esta capacidad me da la oportunidad de cambiar la vida de muchas personas. Nada me da mayor satisfacción.
Fuera de la oficina, me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos. Mis dos sobrinas y dos sobrinos nunca dejan de entretenerme y encantarme, pero mi mayor placer es dedicar mi tiempo y energía a aquellos en necesidad. “Simplemente no puedo ser indiferente, siempre estoy dispuesta a ayudar”.
