I hope you all had a superb 4th of July filled with barbecues, fireworks, or a relaxing day
off. Yesterday, we celebrated the birthday of the United States, marking the day in 1776
when this country declared itself independent from Britain. But the 4th of July isn’t just
about history. It’s also a time to reflect on the principles that drew us to America:
Freedom, fairness, and democracy.
These big ideas are worth contemplating not just on the 4th but every day. As we take
pride in how America strives to uphold these values, we must also consider how to
improve. President Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation
away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be
fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend
our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in
the United States where men were free.”
These words resonate with me. President Reagan, who shared this insight, signed an
immigration amnesty into law in 1986. This legislation began my journey to American
citizenship, a gift I received in 1999.
Our celebration of the 4th of July also reminds us that despite our different countries
and cultures of origin, we are all part of one big American family. We chose to make
America our home because we share these core values. Our diverse backgrounds enrich
this nation, making it more robust and dynamic.
Yesterday was also a day to express our gratitude. Thank you to the brave individuals
who fought for America’s independence, those who have since worked to keep it free,
and everyone who strives daily to ensure we honor our essential values.
Though the 4th of July is a day of celebration, it is also a day to remember why we
chose America and to reflect on how we can help this country remain true to its
principles. As we move forward, it’s clear we have a lot of work ahead of us. Let’s
commit ourselves to ensure that the country we leave for the next generation is better
than the one our parents left for us because the promise of America lies not just in our
history but in our capacity to improve, grow, and uphold the values we hold dear.

notables de la tradición judía que nos pueden enseñar sobre la fe, el liderazgo y cómo

Primero, hablemos de un hombre llamado Korach. Korach era primo de Moisés y
desafió su liderazgo de manera dramática. En la historia de Korach (que se encuentra
en el Libro de los Números, Capítulo 16), Korach lideró una rebelión contra Moisés.
Cuestionó la autoridad de Moisés y creyó que podía liderar al pueblo mejor que él. Sin

I hope this message finds you well. 😊 Today, we’ll be exploring two remarkable stories
from the Jewish tradition that can teach us about faith, leadership, and overcoming
challenges.
First, let’s discuss a man named Korach. Korach was Moses’s cousin, and he challenged
Moses’s leadership in a dramatic way. In the story of Korach (found in the Book of
Numbers, Chapter 16), Korach led a rebellion against Moses. He questioned Moses’s
authority and believed he could lead the people better. However, this ended sadly. 🙁
This story reminds us that we should respect the wisdom and experiences our leaders
bring to the table.
The second story involves a group of spies. Moses sent them to explore the land of
Canaan (Numbers, Chapters 13 and 14). Ten out of the twelve spies brought back a
negative report, showing a lack of faith in God’s promises. But Joshua and Caleb, two of
the spies, showed unwavering faith. 💪
These stories teach us that nobody is perfect – even the best of us can make mistakes
and face challenges. But these stories don’t end with their mistakes. We must learn that
it’s okay to face challenges and make mistakes. What’s important is how we overcome
those challenges and grow from our mistakes.
Let’s face our challenges head-on, learn from our mistakes, and grow stronger. Like
Moses, Joshua, and Caleb, we all have the potential to overcome our challenges and
become the best versions of ourselves.

Imagina que el amor es como una flor. 🌼 Para que una flor crezca, necesita buena
tierra, agua y luz solar. De la misma manera, el amor también necesita las cosas
adecuadas para crecer. Esta cita nos dice que el amor crece cuando aceptamos a las
personas y las cosas tal como son, no solo como deseamos que sean.
¿Alguna vez has querido que un amigo sea más parecido a ti o has deseado que algo

How are you all doing? Today, I read something cool in a book and wanted to share it
with you. The book is called “The Death of Chaos” by L.E. Modesitt Jr. It’s a terrible
name, I know, don’t hold it against me, okay? There’s a sentence that goes like this:
“Love flowers on acceptance of what is, not what is desired.” Let’s talk about what this
might mean! 🌸
Imagine love is like a flower. 🌼 For a flower to grow, it needs good soil, water, and
sunlight. In the same way, love needs the right things to grow, too. This quote tells us
that love grows when we accept people and things as they are, not just how we wish
theycouldbe.
Have you ever wanted a friend to be more like you or wanted something to be different
than it is? We all have wishes and dreams. But sometimes, looking around and seeing
things just how they are is essential. It’s like saying, “Hey, you’re awesome just like this!”
to someone.
For example, your little brother is super chatty when you want quiet. Instead of getting
upset, you can accept this is just how he is and show him, love by listening or playing
together. 💕
Accepting doesn’t mean giving up or not trying to make things better. It’s more like
understanding that things are a certain way right now, and that’s okay. It’s like giving a
big, warm hug to the real world! 🤗
When we accept things as they are, our hearts open up. It’s like we’re giving love the
sunlight and water it needs to grow into a beautiful flower. 🌸
So, let’s try to see the awesome stuff around us just as it is and let our love be like
blooming flowers!

Como muchos de ustedes saben, debido a la pandemia de COVID-19, mis suegros se
mudaron con nosotros por seguridad y apoyo. Desafortunadamente, la semana pasada
enfrentamos la devastadora pérdida de mi suegro. Desde diciembre, hemos perdido a
ambos padres de mi esposa. El dolor y la tristeza que estamos experimentando son
