Is immigration important to Republican voters? Should it?

Are Republican voters missing the boat on immigration?

What is being said?

During every primary or caucus this election year, the voters are asked questions as they are leaving the polling sites.  These are called exit polls, and they can focus on everything from how important certain topics are to directly ask who the person voted for. One of the very interesting things that have come up during every republican exit poll this election year has been where immigration falls on the list of important issues.  It is not on the top, or in the middle, it is actually ranked last.

Why is this strange?

When people think of the Republican Party, one of the first things they usually think about is the party’s views on immigration. This is especially true now because of Republican front runner Donald Trump’s repeated statements on the subject. This is why it is a rather large shock to see that the voters are not actually considering immigration to be a large issue.

Why is this a problem?

While immigration was the last ranked issue the top three issues were the economy, jobs, and government spending. As I have stated in other articles, immigration is a part of the solution to all of these problems.  If our nation accepts more immigrants, we will see an increase in jobs and money flowing through the American economy, and we will see the government spending less on programs like welfare and unemployment because people will have jobs and be able to provide for their families.

I know that may sound like a large jump to make, but hear me out.  It has been proven that immigrants who come to this country are much more likely to start a business.  These new businesses need people to work in them, correct? This means more jobs and more spending.  The immigrants who own the business will need to order the supplies to have their business operations, which means spending money.  They will also make profits that they are able to pay their employees with and spend on their own, which means more money being spent on commodities by both the immigrant and their employees. Due to this increased spending, the employees of the immigrant will not need to file for unemployment, nor will they need to collect welfare. This means that the burden placed on the government through the need for jobs and the need for economic growth will be lightened a little.

What does this mean for you?

The main issue that this shows is that our nation is still not properly educated as to the benefits of immigration. This means that we need people to help educate them. The first step to this is making sure that you yourself are educated, which you can do in many ways.  Patrolling news sources and reading blogs such as this one can be great methods of keeping up on immigration in America, and can really help keep you educated.

Another thing you should try to do is start your journey on the path to legal status.  If you can make yourself a success story, you can be a positive example to the nation of yet another immigrant who succeeded and is now improving our nation every day.

So how do you become a legal resident?

Not everyone is eligible for legal status, but many of you are and don’t even know about it.  On the left-hand side of the screen you will see a section called offers.  In that section there is a free questionnaire that will help you determine if you are eligible for legal status. If you are eligible, we urge you to talk to us so that we can help you down that path to U.S. legal status.

If you are not eligible however, we still have many programs that can be used to protect your and your family.  We live in turbulent times.  There is no way to predict what immigration will do or what the next President’s immigration policies will be.  We urge you to take advantage of these programs, as they could go a long way to keep you and your family safe.

What is the Safe Program?

The SAFE program is the first program we offer. The goal of the program is to minimize your chances of being arrested for any crime or immigration violation. We give you a non-government ID card that we create and that you can keep with you at all times. If you are confronted with a law enforcement officer, whether immigration or the police you show the card to the officer.  You then tell the officer that you will not answer any questions without your lawyer present. This is designed to prevent you from innocently admitting information that the officer can use to arrest you.  On the back of the ID card is a list of your constitutional rights, as well as 24/7 phone number that is manned by an answering service. If the arrest is late at night we will contact you or your family member the next morning.  When you purchase this package you also receive a FREE 30-minute consultation with one of our staff members every year for as long as you are a member of the program.  The purpose of the consultation is to evaluate if your options have changed.

What is the Secure Program?

Our next program is called the SECURE program, which applies specifically if you are detained by immigration.  The identity card won’t keep you from being arrested if you already have an order of arrest or an order of deportation.  However, the Secure program will greatly improve your chances of getting out of detention quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.  Why?  We do thorough immigration and criminal background check before you are detained.  So if there is an order of arrest, we can hopefully fix it before you are arrested for it.

If you don’t fix the problem, at some point you will be detained by immigration. Your family would then need to find you an attorney.  Then your attorney will need to be multiple trips to visit you in detention to sign forms, and figure out the best strategy to getting you out of detention, and preparing your petition to an Immigration Judge or immigration officials.  What our SECURE program does, is make sure that all of that is taken care of before your arrest.  This reduces the chances of an arrest and in case of arrest increases our ability to get you out of detention faster.

You can of course wait and see if immigration will detain you.  But I prefer to do something today to protect my family and help minimize my chances of detention and help get me out faster in case I was detained.  I highly recommend the Safe and Secure program for every immigrant in New Jersey.

Here is what you get with the Secure program:

  1. A thorough immigration analysis reviewing all of your paths to U.S. legal status,
  2. The Safe identity card program for a two year period,
  3. An annual free consultation for two years to evaluate how your options have changed and to collect up to date documentation for you,
  4. Preparation for Deferred Action that way once it is implemented you will be ready to file quickly to achieve legal status,
  5. Criminal background analysis to remove any issues that can result in your arrest,
  6. Immigration Background analysis to find out what immigration knows about you and try to fix any impediment to U.S. legal status,
  7. Signed documentation to get you of detention either via an Immigration Judge or through an immigration official in case you have an order of removal (deportation).

The United States of America is a place of opportunity, find out how you can use that opportunity to better your family.  Get on your path to U.S. legal status by starting our Safe and Secure process today!
