Are Republicans interested in immigration reform in 2014?
I will believe it when I see it. I can understand that they don’t want to be perceived as against immigration reform before the elections and I certainly hope this effort is more than just lip service. There are supposed to be four bills announced, but none with a path to citizenship.
- path to legalization – requiring immigrants learn English , civics, pay taxes, and pay a fine
- DREAMers – legalizing children brought without permission
- Tracking foreign nationals and visas for low skilled workers
- House already passed high-skilled worker and border security bills.
