Maria’s journey to the Andres Mejer Law team in her own words:
“When I was going to college there was an immigration law office that was hiring within walking distance from my school. I applied and got the job, but it wasn’t long before I noticed that immigrants were in a very vulnerable position. They would pay thousands of dollars and get nothing but a deportation.
Personally, I understood quite well what these people were going through. My father came to the U.S. in the 60s and brought the whole family with him. We were fortunate to come into the country already legalized, but it was still a struggle.
In the summer of 2014, I came across Andres Mejer Law. The office is a few blocks from the beach, which is a definite plus for me. The staff at AML is warm and friendly. They are a group dedicated to help others in time of need and crisis. I work as a paralegal at AML, with 15 years of experience under my belt in all facets of immigration. I love what I do and working in this capacity gives me the opportunity to change people’s lives. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction.
Outside of the office, I love spending time with my friends and family. My two nieces and two nephews never cease to entertain and charm me, but my greatest pleasure is devoting my time and energy to those in need.”
